The AHLSTAR Design
- A. Double volute casing in larger AHLSTAR pumps helps equalize pressure in the casing, reducing radial forces and shaft deflection for more reliable performance.
- B. Self-venting, top centerline casing prevents air-lock and helps maintain consistent pressure within the casing, making start up quick and easy.
- C. Adjustable sideplate ensures proper impeller clearance without having to disassemble pump housing or reposition seals.
- D. Rotokey impeller mounting is self-locking, eliminating the need to key the shaft. The resulting shaft/impeller assembly is unaffected by axial load, which means stronger, more reliable power transmission and higher torque.
- E. Simplified bearing unit design is engineered to be low maintenance, requiring either oil bath or grease lubrication.
- F. Non-contacting bearing protection is triple sealed with labyrinth, deflector, and lipseal protection.
- G. Heavy duty shaft is engineered with high strength duplex stainless steel. As a result, it resists deflection at stuffing box - less than 0.002 inches, decreasing fatigue and increasing operational efficiency and consistency.
- H. Dynamic seal for stock or other difficult liquids. Several mechanical seal configurations are also available.
- I. Rigid bearing support foot improves pump stability.
- J. Easily accessible jackscrews provide for quick dissassembly and cleaning, reducing downtime. Your AHLSTAR pump also features a back pull-out design which allows you to perform routine maintenance and adjustments in-line.
