Imbrium Systems
Imbrium Systems designs and develops stormwater treatment products that protect water resources from harmful pollutants. By developing technologies to address the long-term impact of urban runoff, Imbrium ensures its clients are compliant with government water quality regulations.
Imbrium has a strong track record of innovation in the stormwater industry as the creator of Stormceptor oil and sediment separator with 30,000 worldwide installations; the Jellyfish fine sediment filter; along with SorbtiveMEDIA and SortiveFILTER for enhanced total phosphorus removal.
Imbrium Systems remains committed to the advancement of the stormwater industry as Imbrium’s Research and Development Center in Toronto continues to develop and evaluate a broad range of leading stormwater treatment technologies through established relationships with top universities, government research councils and renowned stormwater experts.
Fine Sediment Filtration, Inspired by Nature
Jellyfish™ is a remarkably compact filter that uses filtration tentacles to trap over 85% fine sediment, and allows three times the flow capacity with just one-third the footprint and one-fifth the weight of conventional filters.
Your Total Phosphorus and Sediment Treatment System
SorbtiveFILTER is a turn-key stormwater filtration system (using SorbtiveMEDIA) that removes both sediment-bound and dissolved phosphorus. It is also highly effective at removing sediment (TSS), petroleum hydrocarbons/oil, metals, organics, and trash and debris.
SorbtiveFILTER provides an excellent tool for the design community to effectively address the stringent requirements reflected in the current phosphorus-based Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDL’s), including the needed phosphorus load reductions to protect critical watersheds such as the Chesapeake Bay. Phosphorus is a major cause of fresh water algae blooms which can negatively impact water quality including low dissolved oxygen, fish kills and even public health hazards. Typical applications include commercial, residential and industrial developments, infill projects, ports, roadways and highways.
The Only Solution For Removing Dissolved Phosphorus
SorbtiveMEDIA is an oxide-coated, high surface area reactive engineered media that sorbs and retains large phosphorus loads. SorbtiveMEDIA provides between 100 and 1,000 times more pollutant removal capability compared to conventional media; unlike other media, it does not desorb (leach) pollutants.
For critical watersheds, SorbtiveMEDIA can achieve low Total Phosphorus effluent concentrations (< 0.1 mg/L), providing a cost-effective means to ensure water quality objectives are met, even on projects with aggressive Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) targets.
SorbtiveMEDIA can be used to augment or retrofit existing proprietary and non-proprietary structural BMPs like sand filters, pervious pavement systems, bioretention cells, filtration trenches and conventional filters by easily replacing or displacing a portion of the conventional media.
One system for your large stormwater capacity needs
The StormceptorMAX responds to the needs of large-scale industrial and residential areas which may require a single stormwater management device. It provides stormwater quality treatment for areas 20 to 100+ acres and industrial spill volume capture of 15,000+ gallons.
Unique, comprehensive site coverage
- Increased sedimentation chamber extends horizotally rather than vertically
- Non-turbulent treatment environment allows oil to rise and sediment to settle
- Industrial spill protection in dry and wet conditions
- Patented scour prevention technology contains captured oil and sediment for secure storage and easy removal
- Ideal for industrial or residential sites with established infrastructure
