Automotive Case Study
The Customer was using low pressure spray pots to spray slip coat on automotive window molding. The nozzles for the slip coat would clog and prevent the slip coat from spraying uniformly on the molding. The molding is being extruded and the sections that did not receive the proper coating of slip coat would have to be scrapped.
The customer tried a Zenith B-9000 pump with controller with the hopes that if the nozzles began to clog the pump would generate enough pressure to overcome the clog. The pump worked great and the customer is pleased with the performance. A bonus to the application was the pump generates a very even non-pulsating flow, and the customer was able to narrow or refine his spray pattern. The more refined spray pattern resulted in a 60% reduction in slip coat and a substantial cost savings. The customer has ordered a second unit and plans to change out his other slip coat lines in the future.
